Hello from Pitchfork & Crow ~
We’re headed to the Salem Saturday Market tomorrow! Here’s a selection of what we’ll be bringing to market:
- Arugula
- Bok Choy
- Leeks
- Parsley
- Radishes (just a few bunches this week)
- Salad Mix
- Spinach
We’re not sure about you, but we’re excited to return to market and start sharing our vegetables with the fabulous Salem community once again. It’s been a long, wet winter and although we may not be out of woods with the weather, we’re ready to get back into the swing of things. You may have noticed that the list of vegetables we’ll be bringing to market is made up of mostly greens. These veggies are a stark reminder that we are still well into the spring season, but this is just the beginning! Our propagation house is bursting with cucumbers, squash, and melon starts. The tomatoes and peppers have been potted up and are awaiting transplanting into the field later this month. We even transplanted several beds of peas just last night. So, in the spirit of eating seasonally, we hope you’ll enjoy the spring greens this week, and stick with us as the season progresses.
We hope to see you Saturday sometime between 9am and 3pm. You can find us at the Salem Saturday Market near the intersection of Winter and Union streets in downtown Salem.
Thanks, Carri Heisler & Jeff Bramlett
We are getting very excited for our first CSA basket at the end of this month! Are you two at the Wednesday downtown market as well?
