at market this week!

pink stemmed chard

We’re thinking ahead to Sunday’s South Salem Farmer’s Market!  We’ll begin harvesting from the acre tonight to beat the heat and harvest the bulk tomorrow evening for fresh veggies Sunday morning. Here’s a selection of what we’ll be bringing to the Market:

  • Basil
  • Broccoli
  • Bunching Onions
  • Cabbage
  • Cauliflower (new this week!)
  • Chard
  • Cucumbers
  • Green Beans (new this week!)
  • Kale
  • Lettuce
  • Peas
  • Potatoes
  • Radicchio
  • Salad Mix
  • Yellow Crookneck Squash (new this week!)
  • Zucchini

Weeding has continued to be a priority this week.  We also spent last night transplanting out the next succession of basil and lettuce in
anticipation of fresh salads (and pesto!) into the fall.  I pulled up the first carrot this week and they look great, but a bit small yet.
The pickling cucumbers are putting on fruit and will hopefully be sizable enough for harvest in the next couple of weeks.  However, this week we have cauliflower, green beans, and yellow crookneck squash for the first time!

We hope to see you Sunday sometime between 10am and 3pm.  The market is located at the intersection of Liberty and Madrona in South Salem.

Thanks!
Jeff and Carri
