Hello from Pitchfork & Crow~
We’ve got a big change to announce this week. We’ve begun to outgrow the small South Salem Farmer’s Market and have decided to begin selling on Saturdays at the Salem Saturday Market downtown. We haven’t yet decided if we will also sell on Sunday at the S. Salem Market. We hate to lose all of the regular customers we’ve come to know each week, but as the season continues to bring us more and more veggies we simply weren’t able to sell them all. We’re hoping you’ll visit us Saturday downtown at the Saturday Market. We’ll have the same great veggies, just in a new spot!
Due to the heat this week we began harvesting some items from the acre last night and this morning and will finish up tonight for fresh veggies tomorrow morning. Here’s a selection of what we’ll be bringing to the Market:
- Basil
- Beans (Green, Purple, & Yellow!)
- Broccoli
- Cabbage
- Cauliflower
- Chard
- Cucumbers (slicing and pickling!)
- Dill
- Kale
- Lettuce
- Yellow Crookneck Squash
- Zucchini
This week has been all about keeping cool for us, which means we scaled back on the weeding but made sure the plants on the acre were well-watered. The veggies are ripening quickly out there and our harvesting has intensified these past couple of days. We look forward to a full market booth tomorrow for our inaugural showing at the Salem Saturday Market.
We hope to see you Saturday sometime between 9am and 3pm. The Salem Saturday Market is located at the intersection of Summer and Marion streets NE in downtown Salem. If we have the energy and the veggies we might see you Sunday at the S. Salem Market too!
Thanks!
Jeff and Carri
