Hello from Pitchfork & Crow!
We are getting excited about the 2013 growing season! We’ll begin searching through seed catalogs and readying our planting plan for the upcoming season in the next few days. We’re looking forward to a third year on this ground (and our first full season as farm owners!) and can’t wait to begin starting seeds and planting things again!
We’re also ready to begin accepting new CSA members for the 2013 season. We’ve posted the details on the CSA page here: https://pitchforkandcrow.com/community-supported-agriculture/.
These are the CSA program basics:
- 28 weeks – the same as last year, running May 21st thru November 26th.
- $620 share price – Last year’s shares ranged from $20-$30 per week with an average share value of $25.
- Tuesday evening pick-up – Share pick-up will occur Tuesday evenings at a central Salem location near the Willamette University campus.
- Market-style pick-up – Vegetables will be displayed similarly to our market booth with quantities listed rather than prices, allowing you to choose your vegetables.
You can see photos of each week’s share for the past few years on our Flickr site!
Ready to sign-up? Head over to the Sign-Up form!
Also, once in a while we hear of folks looking to split a share but can’t find partner. Let us know if you’re looking for a splitting partner and we can try to set you up with someone.
We are planning to return to the Salem Saturday Market in May 2013, so if the CSA isn’t a good fit for you, we look forward to seeing you at Market!
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Happy New Year!
