this week at market {may 21}

Hello from Pitchfork & Crow ~

We’re ready for another day at the Salem Saturday Market tomorrow!  Here’s a selection of what we’ll be bringing to market:

  • Bok Choy
  • Head Lettuce
  • Leeks
  • Radishes
  • Salad Mix
  • Spinach
  • Yukina Savoy

We’re gearing up for another beautiful day at the Saturday Market.  Once again we were blown away by the support folks showed last week, nearly cleaning us out by the end of the day.  We brought home a single bag of arugula that sufficed for our dinner of arugula pesto last Saturday night.  We appreciate your eager willingness to buy and consume spring vegetables!  We only wish we had a greater selection and larger quantity for you.  As we looked over the fields this week, we could see visible growth on many of the crops.  The earliest brassicas, including kales, cabbage, and collards, are all established and putting on new leaves.  The peas are happily reaching upwards along their trellising and I even noticed flowers on the earliest shelling peas last night.  The first bed of green beans germinated well is already several inches tall.  This is all to say that we have faith that a larger selection of vegetables are on the way in the coming weeks.  For now, we offer you another week of spring greens and radishes too!

We hope to see you Saturday sometime between 9am and 3pm.  You can find us at the Salem Saturday Market near the intersection of Winter and Union streets in downtown Salem.

Thanks!
