this week at market!

cscade of beans

Hello from Pitchfork & Crow~

We’re gearing up for the Salem Saturday Market!  We began harvesting from the acre last night and Jeff continued this morning.  We’ll finish up this evening for fresh veggies tomorrow morning.  Here’s a selection of what we’ll be bringing to the Market:

  • Basil
  • Beans (Green, Purple, & Yellow!)
  • Broccoli
  • Cabbage
  • Cauliflower
  • Chard
  • Cucumbers (slicing and pickling!)
  • Dill
  • Kale
  • Lettuce
  • Yellow Crookneck Squash
  • Zucchini

The cooler weather this week allowed us to settle back into our routine established earlier in the season.  Jeff has been spending his free moments starting seeds for fall transplants.  Monday evening we transplanted our next succession of basil, mesclun mix, and chicory out to the acre.  Tuesday and Wednesday we spent time weeding beds of carrots, onions, and leeks that will hopefully make their way to our market booth in the coming months.  Yesterday we began harvesting for market and that will continue tonight.  We’re excited to return to the Salem Saturday Market after a wonderful reception last week.  We’re looking forward to another wonderful, if cooler, day at market.

We hope to see you Saturday sometime between 9am and 3pm.  The Salem Saturday Market is located at the intersection of Summer and Marion streets NE in downtown Salem.

Thanks!
Jeff and Carri
